Hanover, MD...Broadcast Sports, Inc. (BSI) is gearing up for the Inaugural 2011 Baltimore Grand Prix, one of the largest events ever to come to downtown Baltimore.  A world leader in wireless camera and audio systems for over 25 years, BSI will be providing all of the wireless audio and video systems including the in-car / on-board cameras for the races through the heart of downtown Baltimore on Labor Day weekend.

Headquartered in Hanover, MD, Broadcast Sports provides TV technology for entertainment events around the world.  From NASCAR, to the Kentucky Derby, X-Games, World Series, and Super Bowl, BSI is always there with wireless High Definition (HD) and 3DHD cameras and wireless microphones putting fans in the middle of the action.

The Grand Prix race weekend will feature a spectacular combination of world-class racing by the IZOD IndyCar Series, The American Le Mans Series, and Star Mazda.  BSI will supply a total of seventeen on-board camera systems, four RF hand held camera systems, five wireless announcer systems, and one helicopter with a camera system to the event, including the only HD on-board camera systems for open wheel racing cars in the world.

"We are excited to have an opportunity to provide our services in front of our home town crowd and be a part of such an important event for the city of Baltimore. This race will help to stimulate more interest in Indy Car racing in the area as well as provide needed revenue for the city and its businesses," said Danny Reichert, Operations Manager of BSI.

The infrastructure required to broadcast an event of this size is impressive. BSI will be setting up a ground-based microwave receive system that includes twelve receive sites around the track to capture the video and audio signals that are transmitted from the cars, helicopter, and all other wireless systems. Fifteen BSI professionals will be on site to service the televised racing series over the 2 days of competition.
